Women in Science in India

Science has never been without women. But the journey of most women scientists in India has not been as easy one. In the early days, this gender bias was so intense that women were denied admission in premier science colleges only for being a woman. Kamala Sohonie and Anna Mani are two such names. They had to fight hard to make a place for themselves.

A lot has changed from then till now; a lot needs to be changed.

Women are moving ahead in every field of science and are achieving big through their contribution despite the odds.

This is SUCCESS. This is CHANGE. This is BELIEF.

On National Science Day, we have created a list of a few women scientists who have made India proud and have paved a path for the generations to come.
